چکیده

The coastal area of Watu Ulo Beach in Jember has great resource potential but also the for major disasters, such as a tsunami. Tsunamis can cause casualties and destroy buildings. Thus, it is important to assess possibility future tsunami disasters. This study aims simulate at using Delft3D-Flow analyze affected areas. modeling based on two simulations, namely Scenario 1 model validation characteristics 1994 Banyuwangi earthquake. Model calculation uses MAPE method <10%. 2, southern Java megathrust earthquake, was analyzed obtain time wave height well run-up inundation, visualizing by Beach. simulation results show that reached 12.57 m with travel 29 minutes. elevation 9.21 m, inundation distance 2.38 km from coastline, indicating caused substantial damage. As an tsunami, Sumberejo Village 634.68 ha, Sabrang 250.03 ha. temporary evacuation location set Tanjung Papuma Street via shortest route 0.57 assembly point. Based this be used reference determining routes locations disaster mitigation

Numerical Study on Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Using a Submerged Breakwater

Most coastal structures have been built in surf zones to protect coastal areas. In general, the transformation of waves in the surf zone is quite complicated and numerous hazards to coastal communities may be associated with such phenomena. Therefore, the behavior of waves in the surf zone should be carefully analyzed and predicted. Furthermore, an accurate analysis of deformed waves around coa...

Analytical and numerical study of nonlinear effects at tsunami modeling

The giant tsunami occurred in the Indian Ocean on 26th December 2004 pays attention to this natural phenomenon and the possibility to use the analytical methods. The given paper demonstrates the role of nonlinear effects in the computed dynamics of the tsunami waves in shallow seas and the applicability of the rigorous and approximated solutions of the nonlinear theory of water waves to explain...

Object-based image analysis to support numerical tsunami modeling

In response to tsunami disaster at the early stage, integrating remote sensing products with numerical modeling proved to be useful to enhance the capability of early damage estimation. The information derived from high-resolution satellite images would well represent the current status of the surface roughness and the land use conditions that would be used in the numerical modeling of tsunami ...

Fault parameters of the 1896 Sanriku Tsunami Earthquake estimated from Tsunami Numerical Modeling

The June 15, 1896 Sanriku earthquake generated devastating tsunamis with the maximum run-up of 25 m and caused the worst tsunami disaster in the history of Japan, despite its moderate surface wave magnitude (Ms=7.2) and weak seismic intensity. This is a typical tsunami earthquake, which generates anomalously larger tsunamis than expected from its seismic waves. Previously proposed mechanisms of...
